Govt Kisan Card Phase 2: Empowering Farmers with Enhanced Benefits

The Kisan Card Phase 2 is an extension of the Punjab Government’s initiative to provide financial assistance to farmers. This phase aims to include a larger number of small and medium-scale farmers, enhancing their access to interest-free loans for purchasing agricultural inputs.​

Key Features of Kisan Card Phase 2

• Expanded Eligibility: Farmers owning up to 25 acres of arable land are now eligible to apply for the Kisan Card. ​

• Increased Loan Limits: The per-acre loan limit has been increased to provide greater financial support to farmers. ​

• Cash Withdrawal Facility: Farmers can withdraw up to 30% of the loan amount in cash, which can be used for purchasing diesel and other essential items. ​

• Transaction Fee Waiver: The Punjab Government has eliminated transaction charges on purchases made through the Kisan Card, reducing the financial burden on farmers. Crop Insurance Initiatives: Plans are underway to introduce a cotton crop insurance pilot project and a disaster crop insurance plan for other key crops under the Kisan Card scheme. ​

How to Apply

Farmers can apply for the Kisan Card by sending an SMS with their CNIC number and the message “PKC” to 8070. Upon verification, they will be directed to the nearest agriculture office to complete the registration process and receive their Kisan Card. ​
